What is Burlesque?

Burlesque is a sexy, fun, naughty and glamorous style that combines cabaret and striptease set to the music and aesthetics of the 1930s and 1940s. It is a variety show that mixes picaresque, parody and sensuality, with simple steps and a lot of mischief.

This fascinating, funny and ironic dance that was born a century ago to reach its maximum splendor in the fabulous 30's and 40's in the USA, exalts the grace, glamour and femininity hidden in every woman. The game of seduction takes the form of a sketch (story) of a few minutes, rebounds with humor and has as its basis a song or an allusive text. Sensuality is underlined, daring, provocative or ironic and the audience and the performer have equal fun.
