Ballem o Què? Academia de Baile
Description
We cannot explain the history of the school without talking about Lauren and Julia, brothers and fellow dancers from their beginnings in the world of dance.
Lauren and Julia, brothers, start dancing at the age of 4, entering the world of dance through ballet, where they learn the basics of dance. A little later they began their training in different disciplines such as jazz, flamenco and ballroom dances, which later became their great passion.
At the age of 11 Lauren and 16 Julia, they discovered the world of Latin dances; Cuban Salsa and in line, bachata, merengue, and later kizomba.
Over time, they become members of dance groups such as Magic Dance, KL Dancers, Mambo in Action, Macbaché and Son Fussion. With these groups they travel to New York, Zurich, Brussels, Barcelona, Almeria, etc. to perform in different dance congresses, in which they continue learning and training to start teaching themselves in Gandía in 2001.
In 2005 they created the dance group Ballem o Què?, formed by 5 couples, coming from different disciplines, directed and choreographed by the brothers. With the group they participate in different events, congresses, fairs, festivities etc. all over the Valencian Community.
Meanwhile Julia finishes her degree in German Philology, and works for a while in Germany, where she teaches Salsa and Lady Style on 2 in different academies. Likewise, Lauren finishes her degree in Physiotherapy and always tries to combine her two passions, Physiotherapy and Dance.
In 2009 they founded together the Association Units pel Ball, in which they try to transmit to people their passion for dance, not only for Latin dances but also for other disciplines.
Finally in 2013 they create "Ballem o Què?" Dance Academy in Gandia, where they have a good team of teachers of different styles, which make the academy a center where you can learn almost any style of dance, both for children and adults.
As dancers, Lauren and Julia continue to train and learn constantly, in order to be able to offer their students quality teaching and continue to grow as dancers and as people.
