Maeva Alçay

Maeva is a versatile dancer specializing in Bachata. She has been teaching for 6 years, locally and internationally (Australia, New Caledonia, Los Angeles, Argentina, Tcheck republic, Lituania, Spain, Switzerland...). She also choreographs and performs for music videos, stage performances.

She passed her certificate IV in Dance at the Space Dance and Art Centre in Melbourne (Australia) where she studied commercial, lyrical, contemporary,.... but also choreographic process and anatomy for dancers. Since she left Australia 3 years ago, she has taken part in intensive training in the Dominican Republic, graduated in Sports coaching, followed one year intensive course within Alegria Dance Company with Damien Cheret and Marie Cazorla (New York Style Salsa). She won the 2021 National Championship in Team (SALSA) and also came 2nd at the European Cup in Spain where she was the 1st woman leading in a Pro Bachata category. She has also trained intensively in Brazilian Zouk, a style she now teaches with Alexis Cucheval.

Her experience in different dance styles gives her a strong understanding of the biomechanics of dance movements and gives her the edge when it comes to teach. She gives precise and technical explanations in a very engaging manner.

Her main aim is to empower people, especially women, through their achievements in dance.
