Blackforest Bachata Day
First of all, thanks to Esra & Martin for this amazing Festival!
The event was extremely well organized, with a great selection of workshops and amazing artists. The location itself was beautiful, and the space was perfectly adequate for the number of participants.
One thing I absolutely loved was that almost every artist actually danced with the participants during the workshops. Since we’re all still learning, it’s not always easy to know if a leader is leading a move correctly or if a follower is reacting the right way. So having the chance for leaders to dance with the follower-artists and followers with the leader-artists was incredibly helpful. It made it so much easier to understand how the moves are supposed to feel.
The mix of workshops was great too — super diverse and definitely kept things interesting.
If there’s one thing to wish for in the future, it would be a more balanced number of leaders and followers. I know that perfect balance is hard to plan because of last-minute cancellations or people getting sick.
